Stress & Seborrheic Dermatitis

Ok…so at some point you start thinking…if they doctors can’t fix me…maybe I can fix myself ?!?!? I don’t know if thats a bad thing or not…but I don’t think it hurts to explore avenues or theories.

I think it has been well documented that stress seems to play an important part in the flare ups related to seborrheic dermatitis. The following links provide some backup to this theory.

So I’ve been thinking about stress in my own life. What are the stressors that might be causing me to have to deal with SD? I can definitely think of a few that I won’t necessarily go into right now. But let’s just say that I think they are worthy of noting. These are things that give me grief daily!

Here is my theory…if these things are stressors…and stress causes SD flare ups, then can anti-depressants help with seborrheic dermatitis? Yes…we refer to them as “happy pills”, but they really just give you that, “don’t give a damn, attitude”, right?

So I decided to try taking some Zoloft to see if I noticed any good or bad effects? Now let me make this statement…I DO NOT CONDONE, RECOMMEND OR ADVISE, that you try this at home!!! I’m simply saying that I tried this in the name of science to see if it helps.

Well…it didn’t help at all. I thought I might have been on to something, but no such luck.
