Products I’ve Tried

I’ve yet to find the “elusive” product that will clear, (not necessarily cure as I understand there is no real cure), my seborrheic dermatitis. I have to admit that I’ve tried a lot of products over the years, between what my dermatologist has given me samples for and the OTC products I’ve tried. You go to the doctor expecting that they will know how to make you better, and it’s discouraging to have them give you some samples and say, “oh this stuff is good and should fix you right up”. Then you find out that the product does absolutely NOTHING to help your problem!

If you’re looking for a great resource to learn more about scalp conditions and the popular remedies for them, I highly recommend this great ebook!

I thought I’d devote a section to the products I’ve tried. This will be a work in progress because I don’t know that I remember “everything” I’ve tried. As I remember something, I’ll add it here.

Nizoral Shampoo – I can’t tell that this shampoo does a thing for me? Neutrogena T/Gel – They make several different varieties of the T/Gel shampoos, and I’ve tried them all with little or no success.

I have had some luck using “T/Sal” shampoo from Neutrogena. It’s main ingredient is salicylic acid which helps to loosen and remove the scales that develop on my scalp.

Lots more to come…just got to hit the medicine cabinet to see if I can find what all else I’ve used!
